Info for Local Makers!

How to Sell Your Work in a Loot Drop art vending machine:

Loot Drop features 2 or 3 new local products per month. If you would like to be featured, please read the following information and fill out the form below.

  • We typically purchase 10-20 units of a local product, enough for us to stock in several machines to test how well the item sells.

  • We do not do commission, only wholesale purchases (so you get paid up front).

  • For items that sell well, we may be interested in adding them to our permanent inventory and will reach back out to order more if so.

  • Please read the following for what kind of items we are looking for, packaging specs, and other information.

(Pro-tip: If you want a direct line to us to ask questions or send us pictures or product ideas, hop on our Discord! We’re just getting it started but that’s where you can find us fastest!)

Item Preferences:

We have found that some items sell better than others. Our best-selling items are typically:

  • Under $7 retail price (we can sell items up to $20 retail, but do most of our sales on the lower end)

  • Functional (able to be used or played with in some way, preferably immediately at the venue)

  • Uncommon (not something you could find easily in other stores)

  • Contained in colorful, eye-catching, and well-designed packaging (look back on our instagram for good examples)

Packaging Specs:

Each item must be able to fit into a vending machine slot and drop without breaking or getting stuck.

We only accept items that are pre-packaged and ready to sell. Except for art prints and stickers, see below.

The two sizes of items we can accept are:

  • Large (Chip Bag Slots)
The closer your item’s packaging is to a vending machine-sized bag of chips, the better it will fit.
Height: No more than 5.5 inches tall
Depth: No more than 1.2 inches deep
Width: Must be 4.75 to 5.15 inches wide

  • Small (Candy Slots)
The closer your item’s packaging is to a vending machine-sized bag of M&Ms, the better it will fit.
Height: No more than 5 inches tall
Depth: No more than 1.2 inches deep
Width: Must be 2.25 to 2.75 inches wide

Best Packaging Practices for vending art from a machine:

Meeting these requirements makes it more likely that we can accept your item, and that it will sell well in our machines. Please let us know if you have any questions!

  • Include a label that clearly identifies the item.

  • Include a backer- your item should be at least as wide as a piece of corrugated cardboard to vend properly.

  • Include an insert with any additional info for the item and links to your business/social media (this can be the same as your backer)

  • Smooth sides and no dangly bits (to avoid items getting hung up in the machine).

  • Ensure your item is heavy enough to drop straight down five feet.

  • Ensure your package keeps your item from breaking or being damaged in transit.

Art Prints and Stickers:

Loot Drop has created special bundle packs for selling art prints and stickers. We buy these items at a set bulk rate and curate them into items we sell in all of our machines. (Mystery Prints and Local Sticker Pack)

  • For these items, no packaging needed, but please do include business cards/info slips with your artist information.

  • We will buy up to 30 of these items from artists at a time as we sell through them. If you don’t hear back from us, have patience, we will reach back out as we have the capacity to buy more.

  • We may change the items on this list as our ideas and other inventory change.

Current rate:

Art Prints -$3.50/print

(4x6”, professionally-printed, high quality paper)

Stickers -$1.25/sticker

(1”-2”, professionally-printed)

Send Us Your Art!

After filling out the form, we will get back in touch with any other questions we have and to let you know if we are interested in placing an order.

If we decline to order, it is not a judgment on your work’s quality, we have to decline perfectly good items sometimes to keep our price range and inventory in each machine balanced. We may reach back out to you in the future, or feel free to resubmit the form with a different item for us to consider.

Thank you, and looking forward to talking with you soon!
