About Us
Loot Drop Art Club is a collaborative project between artist Bunny Eaton and author Ben Loomis. Formerly known as The Curio Machine, we switched names in 2024 to ring in a new era of regional fun and togetherness between our network of artists.
An experiment in combining reuse with ingenuity, we took a bunch of old coin-operated vending machines and art nouveau’d them into distribution points for art, writing, stickers, and other fun goods. In December 2020 we decided to make the jump to full-sized machines to expand the types of art we can vend. Since then, we’ve expanded our machine fleet to over 24 custom full sized vending machines, featuring work from dozens of North Carolina artists. You can find our creative vending machines all over Charlotte, Boone, Asheville, and Raleigh!
Our mission is to make local art more collectible and accessible to everyone, and support a culture of everyday art in North Carolina & beyond.
Read more about our vision in the articles and episodes we’ve appeared in since getting started. We are actively seeking new venues and local artists to work with- check out our Get an Art Vending Machine and Local Artist Info pages for more details!
